Dr. Sowmya Karamcheti, DDS, MHA
Lead Dentist
Dr. Sowmya earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, NY. Prior to this, she received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree (BDS) from N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, India. She also holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration (MHA) from Western Kentucky University, KY.
During her masters program, she volunteered with a student organization called Companions of Respected Elders (C.O.R.E), where she got the opportunity to interact with elderly residents at local nursing homes and positively impact their lives. Upon completion of her degree, she worked as an intern at the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Sowmya is committed to providing safe treatment in a comfortable and relaxed environment. She takes pride in building great, long-lasting relationships with her patients and enjoys working with patients of every age group including kids and the elderly.
Dr. Sowmya is excited to bring her passion for dental care and her expertise in the field to Cville Dentist and serve our community!
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Sowmya is a classically trained vocalist and has performed at several venues in India. She is an ardent coffee lover and enjoys hiking, travelling to new places and spending quality time with friends and family.
Dr. James Willis, DDS
Dentist
There isn’t anyone around who is more passionate about quality dentistry than Dr. James W. Willis. Starting at a small office in Fishersville (which he later ended up purchasing), Dr. Willis worked his way up from associate dentist to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Willis & Associates Family Dentistry, one of Virginia’s fastest growing dental groups with 11 practices currently running and plans to expand to 16 by the end of 2022.
He has been instrumental in shaping and overseeing the dental group’s growth, strategy and culture. In 2012, Dr. Willis completed the Crozet Family Dental transition and set out to define the standard of quality in dental care for his patients. His belief in putting patients first is fundamental to our dental group’s core values and patient care delivery model. Ensuring quality training for doctors, placing only the very best materials in patient’s mouths, and treating patients like family are tenets in his practice model. Dr. Willis believes the dental practice goals are best aligned with patients when the clinics are owned and directed by a dentist leader. He is very passionate about emerging technology and its applications to advance the dental industry.
With an innate ability to connect and empathize with people, he has curated a pioneering troupe of leaders at every level. Under Dr. Willis’s leadership, the dental group has accrued accolade after accolade, such as being recognized as the first platinum providers in Invisalign as a GP in the Charlottesville/Augusta region, 8 plus back to back year winners of Charlottesville Family Favorite awards, voted top Dentist in Virginia Living magazine, and best Chairside manner awards in Ourhealth.
Dr. Willis is adamant in the fact that his loving community has been his primary driving force behind his success, and he always remembers to give back. Over time, Dr. Willis has donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Young Life Christian Organization, and local schools such as Brownsville Elementary.
Dr. Willis obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the West Virginia School of Dentistry in Morgantown. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry, American Academy of Clear Aligners (Executive Committee), Virginia Dental Association, Shenandoah Valley Dental Association, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.
